Chapman University seeks applications for Fall 2024 for a part-time lecturer in Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. First day of instruction is Monday, August 26, 2024. The lecturer may be contracted to teach in future semesters as well.

Qualifications
Requirements:
-Degree and experience in Social Science and/or Humanities field of Disability Studies: minimum Master’s Required, PhD preferred.
-Demonstrate ability to teach beginning and intermediate level Disability Studies courses in person at Chapman’s main campus in Orange, CA.
-Minimum two years teaching experience at higher education level.
Responsibilities
-Teach Introduction to Disability Studies, Disability and American Life, People with Disabilities in Politics and Society, and/or other courses in Disability Studies, hold office hours, and support college policies and procedures.
-Be available to teach beginning in 2024 Fall Semester (August 26, 2024 – December 14, 2024).
-Faculty are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:

-Use of technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning.
-Willingness to support a diverse population of learners inside and outside the classroom.
-Ability to work in a participatory and collegial setting.

Successful completion of a criminal background check is required for the final candidate. The hourly range for course and course related work for this position is $44.32 an hour.
