Job Description:

The Department of Public Health is seeking a Part-Time Faculty 1 for the course PH 4400 (Quantitative Methods in Public Health) for the Fall 2024 semester. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of quantitative methods in public health.  The main goal is to help students learn to design and interpret research to solve problems and make informed decisions.  As a result of taking this class, students should be able to evaluate quantitative approaches to public health research, select appropriate study methods, design a study and collect data, and evaluate and analyze these data.  Students who successfully complete this class should be able to communicate the conclusions of statistical analyses clearly and effectively.

The Part-Time Faculty will be responsible for conducting all instructional duties of the course, including on-campus teaching, implementation and delivery of assignments, grading and outcomes assessment, and maintaining communications with students using the Canvas Learning Management System. 

The position is for Fall 2024 but future teaching assignments for this course may be available consistent with the PTF collective bargaining agreement and the Department’s instructional needs.

Desired Qualifications:

Candidates should have a master’s degree and/or an earned doctorate in epidemiology, biostatistics, other public health specialization, or any social/behavior science with an emphasis on quantitative data analyses and research methods. Professional experiences with public health research methods and a commitment to undergraduate instruction are highly valued.
