Job Description:

Augustana College invites applications for a part-time faculty position in Computer Science beginning either Fall 2024 or January 2025.  This position carries a 1 to 2 course teaching load over two semesters. We are currently seeking applicants capable of teaching our CSC 121 course (a broad introduction to computer-science for a general audience) and CSC 215 (web programming course, including HTML/CSS, Javascript or Typescript, server-side scripting, and an introduction to modern web application frameworks).

The successful candidate will join a close-knit community of teacher-scholars who work collaboratively to educate the next generation of computer scientists. We require no scholarly research or service role in this position. Part-time professors are welcome to be involved in the life of the department and college beyond their teaching and service. All faculty at Augustana are invited to engage in professional development and mentoring opportunities consistent with their needs throughout their appointment at the college.


Requirements:

Requirements for this position: A master's or doctorate degree in computer science or a closely related discipline, OR a master's degree in an unrelated discipline but with at least 18 graduate-level credits of computer science coursework, OR a bachelor's degree in computer science AND substantial professional experience that the college deems equivalent to a master's degree.
