Minimum Hourly Rate:

$20.82

Job Duties:

1. Perform opening and closing tasks of the Aims Flight Training Center 

2. Dispatch flights, ensure compliance with Transportation Security Administration required security regulations, Federal Aviation Administration required logbook endorsements, and Aims Community College’s Flight Operations Manual Procedures including but not limited to weather limitations, flight currency, and approved flight plans

3. Coordinate the maintenance of all of Aims Flight Training Center’s aircraft, vehicles, and simulators

4. Audit aircraft and simulator maintenance and repair logbook records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration regulations

5. Provide instructional support to students and flight instructors

6. Schedule flights and maximize aircraft utilization while ensuring priority in aircraft assignments according to established procedures

7. Answer and direct incoming telephone calls

8. Provide exceptional customer service to students, flight instructors, and visitors

9. Comply with the Flight Operations Manual, Manual Aircraft Movement policy, and safety requirements as provided by the Aviation Department, Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, and Airport Authorities

10. Accurately record mechanical problems and relay that information to maintenance technicians 

11. Except for when taxiing, responsible for aircraft surface movement and logistics, including but not limited to the manual movement of aircraft in a timely and safe manner, aircraft fueling operations, towing operations, hangar securing, restaging between flights

12. Perform a variety of manual tasks including but not limited to hangar cleaning, vehicle and aircraft washing, cleaning, and vacuuming

13. Work outdoors, day, night, and in all weather conditions

14. Attend a variety of public events to support the Aviation Department in a professional manner in accordance with Aims Community College's Goals, Mission, and Values

15. Must be well-informed in Aims flight policies, procedures, and practices as defined in the Aims Flight Operations Manual as well as knowledgeable of Federal Aviation Regulations, Parts 43, 61, 91, and 141

16. Must be able to pass a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment and possess Airport Operations Area privileges

17. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a part/full-time basis

2. Must possess an FAA Private Pilot Certificate, Airplane & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate, or equivalent

3. Must be detail-oriented, possess exceptional communication, customer service skills, and maintain good working relationships with others

4. Must have the ability to make decisions with multiple objectives and implement them in a safe, efficient manner, with and without direct supervision from the supervisor

5. Must have the ability to plan and complete assigned duties on a regular and irregular schedule and follow oral and written directions

6. Must be eligible for approval to drive Aims vehicles

Work Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week. Availability to work operational hours 4:30 AM to 8:00 PM, 7 days per week. Occasionally, shifts may require work outside of these hours.
