The Office of School Partnership connects IU faculty and staff with K-12 educators to address the most pressing needs of students in communities across the state. The office works across the IU system to build meaningful, regional, mutually beneficial partnerships that advance K-12 student success by leveraging resources and the collective expertise of everyone involved.

The Center of Urban and Regional Excellence engages IU Northwest and the community in the creation of positive, sustainable, and impactful programs and initiatives. CURE works collaboratively with organizations in all sectors to promote continued learning, solutions-based interaction, and mutually beneficial partnerships in our communities. 

 

 

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with IU OSP and CURE, develop 2024 Kids College, including academic curriculum tracks, Middle School Crew/College and Career Readiness curriculum; build capacity via instructors, program assistants to successfully implement and evaluate program.
  • Ensures campus and community assets are leveraged to create program integrating course materials, community-based enrichment experiences, and Middle School Crew/College and Career Readiness curriculum.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Director, to develop and implement a marketing plan, communication strategies, and a timeline to ensure program success; ensure communication strategies are developed for all stakeholder groups, including parents/guardians, prospective/actual participants, university and community partners and the media.
  • Collaborates with Assistant Director to develop processes for registering participants and hiring faculty/staff in alignment with university policies
  • Actively engages in daily management of 2-week 2024 Kids College program serving as primary contact for all staff and volunteers, e.g., instructors, program assistants, parents.
  • Participates in American Camp Association (ACA) network meetings and engage with other Indiana Youth Program Camps¿ awardees, i.e., IU South Bend, to foster collaborations and avoid duplication of efforts. 
  • Utilizes community and ACA resources to develop and implement pre-camp professional development for 2024 Kids College staff including instructors, program assistants and volunteers. 
  • Develops a sustainability model with advice and input from campus and community stakeholders.

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day administration ensuring the program's design and implementation to ensure success.
  • Identifies, resolves, or escalates operational problems and minimizes delays. 
  • Serves as a primary contact for administrative activities with internal and external collaborators and funding sources.  
  • Guides report development, processing, and analysis.
  • Collaborates with IU OSP/CURE and community partners to develop program objectives and create policies to meet them. Coordinates program operation with all collaborative units. 
  • Works with the Assistant Director and IU OSP/CURE to coordinate campus program budget.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education. 

 

EDUCATION
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in higher education student affairs, public affairs, counseling, social work, education, business, or related field

WORK EXPERIENCE
Required

  • 2 years in student services, higher education, or related field
