Indiana University East, Richmond, IN, invites applications for a part-time Catering Lead to work approximately  in the fast-paced food service area.

Department-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Food Service Director and Lead Cook to prepare, serve, and deliver food items for events, while following all food handling practices to ensure safe product.  
  • Prepares, delivers, sets up, and ensures customers' food items are ready to their specifications. 
  • Dependability, strong work ethic, and outstanding customer service skills will be key to providing a rewarding experience for our customers. 
  • Strong time-management skills; flexibility while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accurately and efficiently follow standardized recipes for menu items.
  • Washes and cleans equipment and preparation areas while maintaining the highest possible sanitation standards is needed.
  • Understands and follows oral and written instructions. 
  • Safely operates all food preparation equipment.
  • Works in a team environment and perform work safely and efficiently.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

SKILLS

Required

  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check is required
  • Demonstrates dependability, strong work ethic, and good customer service skills are required
  • Strong time-management skills; flexibility while working in a fast-paced environment

This role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position as well as the ability to move about the workplace for long durations. It requires effective communication, the ability to operate machinery, tools, and controls. The role requires the ability to ascend/descend ladders/stairs, and to position oneself in low level positions, detect a variety of chemicals and/or gases. The person in this role must be able to move items up to 50 pounds multiple times per shift. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$17.00- $18.00 per hour.

IU East Campus

Richmond, Indiana

27-32 hours per week

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM- 3:00 PM

Occasional later evenings depending on events located on campus
