Job Title: Part-time Business Services Professional (0.5 FTE)

Job Summary:

This position provides general business operations services for the Division and the GI and Liver Innate Immune Programs (GALIIP). The Business Services Professional is responsible for exercising discretion, using analytical skills, and being accountable for a wide range of program functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying, and sharing knowledge related to the operation of the GALIIP. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general administrative operation of the GI and Liver Innate Immunity Programs (GALIIP).
  • Coordinate leadership faculty availability for scheduling meetings and events. 
  • Support GALIIP Enrichment Program and Recruitment activity.
  • Handle all logistics for visiting speakers and recruits, including booking airline reservations, lodging, and transportation.
  • Ensure that program costs remain within budget and adhere to university policies.
  • Maintain working knowledge of GALIIP budget setup and participate in annual process to establish new accounts or re-budget existing ones as needed. 

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • One (1) year professional level experience in program operations.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working at a higher education institution.
  • Experience with CU procurement and accounting software such as CU Marketplace and Concur Travel and Expense System.
  • Prior experience using a procurement card.
  • Experience with information systems, financial applications, and website maintenance. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles. 
  • Ability to interpret and apply University policies to all tasks.  
  • Strong attention to detail.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative to find answers and solutions. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to interact effectively and efficiently with all levels of personnel. 
  • Ability to deliver results in a timely manner. 
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this part-time 0.5 FTE position has been established as $27,432 - $34,893.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
