Position Summary Information

Objective

Conducts all duties and responsibilities as defined in the Blinn College faculty handbook for a part-time instructor.
Instructor will teach Introduction to Biotechnology as a Technical Dual Credit class at a local high school.

Essential Duties

1. Teach course in Introduction to Biotechnology at at local high school
2. Prepare course syllabi according to the current college guidelines.
3. Develop, grade, administer and facilitate quizzes, exams, and other assessment tools used to evaluate student learning.
4. Assist in making recommendations to the Program Director for Therapeutics Manufacturing regarding curriculm additions, deletions,or revisions.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Biology or Biochemistry lecture and lab experience. Experienced in working with electorphoresis, PCR and other relevent biotechnology laboratory systems and techniques.

Preferred Experience and Training

Biology or Biochemistry lecture and lab experience. Experienced in working with chromatography, electorphoresis, PCR and other relevent biotechnology laboratory systems and associated techniques.

Physical Requirements
Required Degree, License or Certifications

Bachelors in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology or other relevant discipline.

Special Notes To Applicants

This position is for a Technical Dual credit course, BITC 1411 at College Station High School. Applicants should be currently employed at a high school and teach Introduction to Biotechnology or revelant biotechnology laboratory and knowledge building skills course.
