Position Summary:

Essential : Issues parking citations to drivers of illegally parked vehicles.

Patrols parking lots and parking structures and reports the existence of hazardous conditions.

Attaches vehicle boots and arranges towing services for vehicles as necessary.

Assists in traffic and crowd control activities as assigned

Maintain close communications with dispatching personnel, using two-way radios or cell phones.

Essential: Relay information about incidents or emergencies to FAUPD dispatch using two-way radios.

Respond to and make radio dispatch calls regarding parking violations and complaints.

Identify vehicles in violation of parking codes, checking with Parking and Transportation office when necessary to confirm identities or to determine whether vehicles need to be booted or towed.

Perform maintenance procedures on meter stations.

Observe and report hazardous conditions such as missing or damaged signs in parking lots.

Essential: Enter and retrieve information on vehicle registration, identification, and permit status, using the parking management system.

Maintain assigned equipment and supplies such as, citation books, radios, LPR, IPAD, Barnacle Device, keys and access cards. Provide information to the public regarding parking regulations and location of streets, buildings and points of interest. Inform the public about policies, services or procedures.

Make arrangements for illegally parked or abandoned vehicles to be towed, and direct tow-truck drivers to the correct vehicles.

Perform traffic control duties such as setting up barricades and temporary signs, and direct vehicle traffic as assigned. Pick up Parking and Transportation cones and barricades after events.

Essential: Assist motorists needing help with problems, such as keys locked in cars, or battery boost by contacting FAUPD.  May provide information and other general assistance to the university community and its visitors.  Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma and two years appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Able to lift at least 40.
Valid Driver’s License
