Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; intermittently lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing over 50 pounds, and standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and occasionally sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and working in confined spaces. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people
 
Shift
DAYS /EVENINGS / NIGHTS  – various hours. Must work at least 36 hours / month. Some weekends and holidays required. 
Job Summary
The Paramedic will work in the Level 1 Trauma Center to compliment the nursing role. Performs patient care duties utilizing a team approach in collaboration with RN, MD and other members of the health care team. Organizes, prioritizes, and delivers direct patient care based on determined scope of practice within the hospital setting.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Clinical care to include but is not limited to vital signs, insertion of IVs, NGT, urinary catheters, 12 lead EKG, wound care, suctioning and proper documentation.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience
High School diploma or GED, Current Kentucky Paramedic Certification or Licensure, required. Nationally registered EMT (NREMT); American Heart Association (BLS), ACLS and PALS certification required. Three (3) years of paramedic experience preferred
