Job Description Summary:


The instructor is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities during the day, evening, or weekend via instructional delivery formats to include face-to-face, hybrid, online, and remote. Face-to-face and hybrid classes may be offered on any Prince George's Community College campus. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners, organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles, and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development, academic advising, curriculum design.
The Owl Scholars program supports the retention of grade-level skills in preparation for the rigor of the upcoming school year. Courses also engage students in activities that stimulate their career interests. We are always looking for proposal to offer new and innovative courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience delivering academic or personal development curricula.
  • One year full-time or equivalent part-time experience in providing direct services (instruction or tutoring) in an educational or human service environment.
  • Job Requirements:

  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule is subject to change based on department needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  • As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the training sites located in Prince George's County.
  • A fingerprint supported background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.

    Effective August 8, 2022, Prince George's Community College's current vaccine mandate will expire for students, faculty, and staff. Select exceptions may apply. Face coverings will be voluntary campus-wide, including in classrooms and instructional spaces.
