Housing & Residence Life and Campus Services provide both undergraduate and graduate students an engaging living environment while attending the University of Idaho. It is an integrated part of Auxiliary Services which focuses on providing quality products and services to university students, faculty and the greater community.
Position Overview
The Overnight Lead Information Desk Attendant will provide a high level of customer service to students, staff, and visitors at the 24-hour information desk.
Duties may include:
  • Mail distribution
  • Issuing building access
  • Helping residents with a wide variety of questions and concerns
  • Handle confidential information
  • Assist with building security
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the information desk team
  • Perform administrative tasks
  • Assist the Resident Services Manager
  • Working overnight shifts
  • Being a resource in Housing policies and procedures
  • Independently solve problems within the scope of their authority
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Experience providing customer service
Required Education
  • None
Required Other
  • Ability to work overnight shift. Work hours are 12:00 midnight to 9:00 a.m. Monday-Friday. Some weekend hours may be required
Additional Preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working as an Information Desk Attendant or in a related position
  • Experience living in a residence hall

Demonstrated ability to:
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Solve problems and troubleshoot a variety of issues
  • Accurately complete tasks with high attention to detail
  • Use word processing, spreadsheet, and email software
  • Use computer systems to store and organize information
  • Explain complex policies and procedures
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Follow written instructions
  • Work under pressure in a high-volume environment
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Ability to:
  • Move about and between venues for extended periods of time up to a full day of work in any weather
  • Place and retrieve items at a variety of heights for an extended period of time
  • Lift, carry or otherwise move 10 pounds regularly
  • Lift, carry or otherwise move 50 pounds occasionally
