Job Summary: The OTIDE Student Success Program Manager oversees, facilitates, and manages student success and retention-centered programming and communications for UA Online programs. Assists the Director by providing support for existing programs aimed to support student success and retention and assisting with the coordination of new initiatives. Manages, develops, implements, and assesses a comprehensive retention action plan for UA Online programs.


Additional Department Summary: Manages a dynamic portfolio of enrollment and retention initiatives. Manages and implements services aimed at improving the retention and graduation rates of students enrolled in UA Online programs. Assures that services offered to distance students are consistent with SACSCOC accreditation requirements. Oversees an academic success coaching team charged with building relationships with and supporting the academic success of currently enrolled online students through strategic and data-driven programming initiatives, targeted communication campaigns in UA’s CRM, and high-touch, personalized academic coaching services. Manages, analyzes, and reports the results of regularly scheduled surveys, collected data, and alter campaigns to currently enrolled students for efficiency. Serves on divisional and college committees and is the departmental liaison on various institution-wide committees.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of academic advising or student success experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of academic advising or student success experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Strong multi-tasking and program management skills. Knowledge of academic coaching, academic skill building, student development, higher education advising, and related academic support functions. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in online learning and distance student success. Comfortable reviewing data and reports to make decisions about services. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal, institutional, and external partners, and online students.


Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Experience with student success and advising, personnel/team management, and data analysis. Strong user-level technology background. Budgetary management experience. Knowledge of UA's Catalog, policies and procedures - specifically undergraduate and graduate admissions, Office of the University Registrar, and Student Account Services and Office of Student Financial Aid. Experience with UA technology systems including the UA CRM, LMS, and Banner.
