General Information
The Office of Undergraduate Programs in the College of Business (CoB) at James Madison University (JMU) seeks applications for an Operations Manager in a dynamic, fast-paced student services office. This individual will be instrumental in managing the daily operations of the Undergraduate Programs Office and administratively supporting the activities of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and the Office of Professional Development and Engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include; managing processes and workflow related to fiscal spending for student organizations, student and faculty travel, and student programming; coordination of information related to student scholarships and at-risk students. This individual will also assist with event planning for Undergraduate Programs and the Office of Professional Development and Engagement. Events include: admissions and orientation events, honor society induction ceremonies, and student organization fairs. Also responsible for managing graduate, post-graduation, and business school ranking surveys and producing reports for stakeholders under the direction of the Associate Dean.
Responsible for training and managing student assistants and managing the Hartman Hall employer space, prospective student tour scheduling, and virtual interview rooms. Works with the leadership of the CoB Student Advisory Council to manage the group’s activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Experience in fiscal data management, including budget tracking and fiscal record-keeping methods, practices, and procedures
  • Polished interpersonal skills: in-person, in writing, and via telephone/online platforms
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously (e.g. project management skills)
  • Ability to develop and maintain an understanding of state, university and college policies, procedures, and practices related to fiscal management and event planning
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders including: students, faculty, alumni, and prospective student families

Additional Considerations
  • Advanced Excel skills or ability to learn
  • Familiarity or demonstrated use of university systems such as EMS, Advance, Scholarship Hub, Finance, Canvas, Chrome River, AIM, eVA, or similar software is beneficial but not required

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, the university police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures, protocols for the immediate notification of students and staff upon confirmation of a significant emergency on campus and other matters of importance related to security and safety. The report includes statistics for the most recent three-year period of reported crimes that have occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by JMU or its affiliates; and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes campus housing fire statistics for the most recent three-year period, a description of each on-campus student housing facility fire safety system, the number of fire drills held during the previous calendar year, policies or rules on portable electrical appliances, smoking, and open flames in student housing; and procedures for student housing evacuation in the event of fire along with other fire safety information.
