Description

The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, College of Medicine, at the University of Illinois Chicago anticipates hiring multiple tenure track faculty in the field of Neuroscience.  Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience with a preference for Assistant and Associate Professor candidates. We are seeking innovative and collaborative individuals whose research has demonstrated excellence in Neuroscience across a broad range of areas.  We especially seek and encourage candidates with research programs integrating mechanisms impacting neuronal function in normal physiology, aging and neurodegenerative disorders.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and be expected to articulate plans for establishing and maintaining an extramurally funded research program incorporating collaborations with UIC colleagues. Applicants will participate in teaching at the graduate and professional health sciences level and must have a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).  Highly competitive salary and start-up packages commensurate with qualifications and experience are available.  Highly distinguished scholars may be eligible for nomination to the University of Illinois System Distinguished Faculty Recruitment Program.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or MD/Ph.D.  degree with a strong publication record in leading peer-reviewed journals, and potential for extramural funding at the Assistant Professor rank or current extramural funding at advanced ranks.
