The Department of Nutrition in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) invites applications for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions. We seek those with emerging or established basic science and/or translational research expertise who focus on the connections between nutrition and health. Areas of particular interest include the mechanisms by which nutrition impacts metabolic health and dysregulation, cancer risk and progression, obesity, diabetes, and inflammatory states. Applicants are expected to launch and grow their independent research, to interface with current research efforts in the department, and to participate in educational activities.

The Department is a highly interdisciplinary academic unit with expertise in molecular nutrition, public health nutrition, metabolism, genomics, proteomics, immunity, systems biology and bioinformatics, culinary medicine, and translational biomedical sciences. In addition to research, the Department has strong training programs for dietitians, undergraduate, Masters, and PhD students.

Qualifications

Successful candidates are expected to develop innovative and externally funded research programs, contribute to educational activities, and participate in service activities. Candidates should have a PhD and/or MD and a strong record of peer-reviewed research accomplishments. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level will have productive postdoctoral research experience and promising plan for developing an independently funded research program, while candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level will have an established and funded and research program.
