This is a non-tenure track, multi-year faculty position with appointment in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations, starting in Fall 2024.

Experience: The college is committed to providing students with the skills and knowledge to promote positive changes in our diverse world. We seek an experienced colleague who can engage students in developing campaigns that advance the wellbeing of individuals and diverse communities. The individual will play a key role in our newly launched Communication and Social Justice minor, an initiative designed to help students from across the university communicate their hopes for a more just world. The ability to teach skills courses across our Public Relations curriculum will be ideal. Other responsibilities for the position include advising student groups, and service to the university and community. Teaching will be both in-residence and online as the need arises.

Education: Candidates should possess a Master’s degree and have relevant experience in helping organizations use paid, earned, shared, and/or owned media to drive change. We particularly value experience in advocacy communication, corporate social responsibility, brand purpose, or ESG practices. A Ph.D. degree would be a plus. The successful candidate must complete all degree requirements by the appointment start date.

The Department of Advertising and Public Relations offers both residential and online degree programs. It is part of the Bellisario College of Communications, one of the largest accredited communications programs in the nation. The university and college have a strong commitment to achieving diversity among faculty and staff, and we encourage applications from members of underrepresented groups.

Application: Applicants must complete an online application and upload a cover letter, a current CV, and a list of at least three references. The deadline to submit applications is March 15, 2024.
