Description of Work
The PGA Professional Golf Management Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is seeking applications for the director of the PGA Professional Golf Management Program (PGAM). This position will be located in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The PGAM prepares students for successful careers in the golf industry through a comprehensive curriculum that integrates academic studies with professional golf training experiences. Our program offers students the opportunity to complete the requirements for a Bachelor of Science in PGA Golf Management while acquiring valuable training experiences in the golf industry and fulfilling the PGA of America’s membership requirements.
Serving approximately 200 students, the PGAM program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is among the largest of the 16 PGA accredited programs in the country.
Position Duties
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the PGA, university administration, faculty, and students.
  • Manage all aspects of the PGA Golf Management Program, including budget preparation, curriculum development, policy implementation, and personnel management.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the program’s success and meet accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee student recruitment, orientation, advising, student success, career development, and support services.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and PGA policies and procedures.
  • Build external relationships with community partners, industry stakeholders, and alumni to support program advancement and student opportunities.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Teach courses within the PGA Golf Management curriculum and advise students on academic and career matters.
  • Oversee internship programs and student placement within the golf industry.
  • Participate in fundraising efforts to support program initiatives and scholarship opportunities.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in agriculture, business, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in the golf industry.
  • Proof of PGA Class A Professional membership in good standing.
  • Knowledge of PGA policies and procedures and PGA Golf Management University programs.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities.
  • Experience in higher education and program development.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders in the golf industry.
