Position Description Summary:
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA), is seeking full-time academic intensivists. The MFA is an independent, non-profit, academic clinical practice group strategically aligned with the George Washington University. The George Washington University Hospital is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level One Trauma Center located in the heart of the nation’s capital. Intensivists at GW work closely with other intensivists, neurosurgeons, trauma surgeons, cardiologists, transplant surgeons, cardiac surgeons, and other medical/surgical sub-specialists in an environment that fosters collaboration. Appointment to these full-time, non-tenure track academic positions will be made at an academic rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor) commensurate with experience.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive, multi-system care to critically ill patients with general critical care including management of trauma patients, neurologically injured patients, and cardiovascular diseases; teaching fellows, residents, and students; participating in administrative duties, and pursuing scholarly interests. Those with subspecialty expertise in cardiac, transplant, and neurocritical care are invited to apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be board certified in Critical Care Medicine from any of the accepted core specialties or in the certification process at the time of appointment. Eligibility for licensure in the District of Columbia is also required.
Advertised Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
