Job Summary:

The Office of Education and Training (OET) Manager in the Department of Psychiatry oversees all administrative aspects of the Office of Education and Training and leads the education mission of the department with the Vice Chair of Education. This role is responsible for the strategic management, operations, human resources, and financial aspects of the education missions across programs. Additionally, the OET Manager plays a pivotal role in project management, tracking the departmental capacity for non-GME trainees, collaborating with the Vice Chair to define training supervisor expectations and establish the culture of training, and managing sponsored projects for education and other education budgets. This position will also collaborate with faculty training directors to improve programming, curriculum building, and data collection required to meet departmental expectations. 

This position will oversee at least 2 employees including post-doctoral programs and Graduate Medical Education (GME) to ensure the forward progress of these programs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Discipline Directors to cascade processes and information to training supervisors and trainees.
  • Ensure consistency of practices, policies, and training experiences across the department.
  • Serve as the administrator of reference for all problems related to education and training including compliance, performance, space, finances, and operations.
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership and staff to implement billing training for supervisors and trainees.
  • Initiate affiliation agreements between trainees SOP and their host schools/organizations.
  • Ensure legal requirements are met for all trainees who work in DoPsych including malpractice insurance, licensure, etc.
  • Track the placement of all non-game trainees; work with Discipline Directors to strategically assign trainees to clinics and supervisors and ensure consistent, optimal training experiences.
  • Responsible for OET fiscal planning, fundraising, and analysis for over $3 MM including budget creation, financial projections, allocations impacting personnel and operational procedures, and evaluation of past financial performance.
  • Sponsored programs administration including co-management of multiple R25 and T32 grants.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, psychology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Five (5) years of professional level experience in business or Graduate Medical Education (GME) administration. 
  • Experience with training and supervision of others in a professional capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience overseeing sponsored programs administration, philanthropic fundraising, working with donors, and communicating value to outside stakeholders.
  • Experience in curriculum building.
  • Previous experience with the advancement of diversity and inclusion, wellness, education, and workforce initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Advanced communication skills, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the institution and with external constituents.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, quality improvement, program evaluation, and project management concepts such as change management and stakeholder interviewing.

  • Ability to manage complex financial information and respond to rapidly changing financial landscape.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $73,491 - $93,481.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
