The Office of Academic and Global Affairs, Health Sciences, works directly with the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor, Health Sciences, in implementing academic programs and projects of high priority to the health sciences schools, many of which also have high visibility within the University as well as locally, nationally, and internationally.



Job Summary

Serves in an administrative capacity and provides administrative support to the project manager and other team members. Assists with fiscal management and compliance with federal regulations and the contracts. Manages day-to-day office operations and interacts with key stakeholders.


Essential Functions 

Act as office manager for the Office of Academic and Global Affairs, Health Sciences, and provide professional level support for the associate vice chancellor for academic and global affairs. Independently coordinate travel and project logistics related to the international visiting scholars programs, annual and monthly conferences and lectures, and other projects/events as needed. Helps manage the daily administration of the office of academic and global affairs under the supervision of the associate vice chancellor (AVC) and the director of academic and global projects. Provides administrative support, including entering, composing, and proofreading correspondence and documents for the AVC. This material includes all forms of correspondence, proposals, charts, PowerPoint presentations, and budget material. Coordinates complex meetings, controls and responds as necessary to heavy workflow, and relates productively to all levels of internal and external constituents.


Physical Effort 

Mostly sedentary but some movement from place to place and occasional lifting required.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification Three to five years relevant administrative experience preferred. Relevant experience may be used for education requirement substitution per university education equivalency. Experience working with international students and programs and/or with booking complex international travel is a plus. Requires an individual who is highly motivated and ultra-organized and one who operates with autonomy and discretion within the scope of the position.
Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.n.
Work Arrangement Hybrid: Combination of On-Campus and Remote work as determined by the department.
