We are an outpatient U of M satellite facility located in Canton, MI, seeking an energetic OTR who specializes in neuro Rehabilitation. We are a very close-knit group with a collaborative approach. Our network provides a full continuum of care from inpatient to outpatient with the use of state-of-the-art technology to enhance patient progress. Our Canton location offers a wide variety of services, specializing in neuro Rehabilitation, orthopedics, spine, pelvic floor, aquatics, cancer rehab and hand therapy.
- Completes evaluations of assigned patients and interprets evaluation results in accordance with the established standards of care and practice.
- Develops focused individually designed treatment plans based on the patient's functional goals and appropriate established standards of care and practice.
- Utilizes independent clinical decision making to progress patients and modifies treatment depending on the patient's need and medical and medical/psychological status.
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. Current Michigan Licensed or licensed eligible and member NBCOT.
Experience in the treatment of adult rehab neurological conditions is preferred. Some areas of focus include functional restoration, healthy lifestyle, improvement of posture and core stability, spasticity management and serial casting, orthotic fabrication as well as treatment of shoulder and other common upper extremity diagnoses. Some basic experience with hand therapy or the willingness to learn is also expected.
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
