The Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (JCAST) is one of eight colleges / schools at Fresno State. The Department of Food Science and Nutrition is one of six departments in JCAST. Students majoring within the department are prepared for a wide range of professions in the nutrition field and food industry. Located within the center of the world's most productive growing and processing region, the department is ideally situated to provide students with both a strong academic and practical experience.
The Department of Food Science and Nutrition at California State University, Fresno invites applications from a diverse group of qualified applicants for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2024. Teaching responsibilities would include undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Nutritional Science and Dietetics Program and/or related face to face and online undergraduate and graduate courses in the department. The faculty are expected to provide academic and professional/career advising, supervise research projects, theses, and senior projects for undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, develop an externally funded research program, involve student participation in their research, and participate in service activities both within and beyond the campus community as well as involvement in professional organizations. The candidate should have an established research interest in nutrition science or related fields and develop a plan for continuation of research. Specific assignments are dependent on departmental needs and the background of the individual.

Commensurate with education and experience the anticipated hiring range is $7,400-$7,700 per month for Assistant Professor (12 monthly payments per academic year). As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.
