JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, the Nursing Pipeline Admissions Coordinator implements recruitment and admission pipeline strategies and plans as part of the commitment to expanding access to nursing education. This position will also develop relationships with partnership enrollment programs (PEPs), high schools, middle schools, and other higher education institutions to foster applicants to the CON and implement an ambitious plan of ongoing recruitment and nursing pipeline programming.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the development and implementation of the yearly recruitment plan that includes travel to conferences as well as middle school, high school, community colleges, and four-year college institutions.
  • Maintains local, regional, and national contacts for recruitment.
  • Develops, coordinates, and delivers outreach programs and marketing strategies, including community workshops, and related recruitment efforts; arranges visits and tours for prospective students and parents.
  • Serves independently as the point person for internal coordination of university student recruitment and enrollment management goals utilizing specific knowledge gained of admissions, registration criteria and deadlines.
  • Guides applicants on the application process and how to connect with Nursing Admission Counselors for pre-admission advising, coaching, and counseling.
  • Communicates with potential applicants and in-progress applicants utilizing various platforms including phone calls, email, text, meeting in person and in the virtual environment.
  • Identifies and cultivate relationships with other key partners and stakeholders in communities across the state.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Dean to develop a plan to connect with health clubs, STEM and Certified Nurse Assistant programs within high schools as a pipeline strategy.
  • Identifies a strategy and work to organize the use of print and electronic communications.
  • Collaborates with Assistant Dean and Marketing and Communications to utilize social media to publicize the programming and to reach prospective participants.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of student-centered programs for current and incoming students to increase resources and support.
  • Performs other duties as required.

    Qualifications

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years related work and progressively more responsibility or expansive work experience in nursing admissions pipeline and outreach activities. Demonstrated experience collaborating with partners across the nursing school pipeline, including high schools, community colleges, undergraduate institutions, influencers/advisors, and community-based groups. Must have valid Driver’s License.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of education pipeline to nursing schools and national trends in recruitment of nurses.
    Strong administrative, communication, group presentation and advising and counseling skills.
    Ability to work in a team environment and maintain excellent working relationships.
    Ability to plan and organize work and multi-task.
    Detail oriented with excellent customer service skills.


    WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. May require occasional overnight travel.
