Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a full time 12-month Nursing Lab/Sim instructor. The primary responsibility for this role is teaching and clinical supervision in the nursing simulation laboratory. This includes skills labs and clinical simulation in all programs within the Department of Nursing and coordination of labs and simulations within the Family Nurse Practitioner program within the Department of Nursing. Other responsibilities include occasional classroom or online teaching, possible clinical supervision of students, participation in committee work, and participation in curriculum development and evaluation. Other responsibilities include contributions to the scholarly body of nursing knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters degree in nursing or doctor in nursing practice (DNP) from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting organization.
- Valid NYS professional nursing license.
- Recent clinical experience as a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse.
- Ability to work effectively with students, public, college community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Theoretical knowledge and experience with lab, simulation, and computer assisted learning.
- Experience with the development of curriculum.
- Ability to keep abreast in the use of training of new instructional technology.
- Full knowledge of use of high fidelity simulators and scenario programming.
- Familiarity with programming and trouble-shooting clinical equipment and basic computer software.
Work Schedule: variable
Salary and Benefits: The Minimum Salary for this Position is $79,966.
