Description


The Nursing Informaticist (NI) leverages nursing experience with critical thinking, science and technology and acts as a catalyst for change and adoption of technologies that improve the patient, family and clinician’s experience. 


The NI assists individuals and groups to define healthcare information problems and identify methodologies for implementing, utilizing, and modifying informatics solutions and data structures that support healthcare access, delivery, and evaluation.


The goal of the NI is to improve the health of populations, communities and families by implementing and optimizing information management and communication systems.


 

This is a flex-hybrid role which will require you to be onsite at least 10% time, within 4 hours of being asked to come onsite, or as required by operational need; there are no reimbursements for travel to “home office” location.


Each employee must complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager which will outline arrangement parameters and aids both parties in fully understanding expectations. Arrangements are regularly evaluated, and are subject to termination.

Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position is $105,200 -$250,600 annually.  The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is approximately between the minimum and midpoint.

Qualifications

  • RN License
  • ANCC Certification Preferred
  • MSN Preferred; BSN Required
  • Informatics Experience
  • Epic Experience required
  • Office 365 Suite experience required
  • Five years of recent full-time nursing experience; acute care hospital experience preferred  
  • Previous participation and/or leadership in an organizational committee 
  • Basic project management skills (ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues list, manage project plan) 
  • Demonstrated skill in system workflow and business process flow analysis and design 
  • Prior experience with IT systems and systems development projects 
  • Effective leadership skills and strong customer service orientation 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and shape consensus, leading group discussions and presenting in front of groups of clinical and business operations leaders from across the organization 
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain a spirit of cooperation and respect, flourish in an unstructured environment, and always engage in professional and ethical conduct 
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult and stressful situations 
  • Must recognize and evaluate problems, and refer to the appropriate channels for action 
  • High functioning team skills, including active listening, rapport building, effective written & verbal communication, receiving and delegating work assignments 
  • Ability to probe for information about the underlying needs of the organization 
  • Ability to identify, document, resolve and/or escalate issues and maintain a complete issues log  
  • Ability to research organize, analyze, and synthesize data to support effective decision making 
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks 
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player and work with people of all backgrounds and at all levels
