ABOUT THE JOB

The Nurse, Clinical Educator, CRMC will collaborate with the Capital Region Medical Center patient care departments to provide education to nursing staff in all areas to help promote and maintain safe, competent nursing staff and assist staff in acquiring knowledge and skills to advance their practice. This role provides general education to staff in other areas of the organization and acts as a consultant on committees.

 

SALARY RANGE  $34.46 - $51.02

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops an effective onboarding orientation for all new personnel. Develops a role-specific orientation for all nursing personnel according to their role and assigned duties. Coordinates the orientation for all new nurses and patient care technicians. 

Collaborates with the departments on education specific to issues and educational needs of the nursing unit. 

Works collaboratively with all members of the health care team, focusing on assisting staff to meet their educational requirements and learning needs. 

Coordinates and assists with tracking mandatory education specific to the department and in coordination with the roles assigned. 

Works in conjunction with various committees (e.g. TCD-Stroke, STEMI, RQI, Safe Patient Handling) to track the mandatory education and to meet the educational requirements as set forth by state and federal guidelines. 

Participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives, acting as a resource and advocating for best practices. 

Facilitates an environment conducive to staff participating in various professional development sessions based on a periodic needs assessment. 

Follows recognized standards to ensure quality certification programs are based on the current acceptable guidelines and be instructor certified to teach these classes. 

Organizes and assists with the orientation of all students for their clinical experience in accordance with the orientation guidelines by federal and state requirements. Collaborates and coordinates clinical experiences with schools. 

Enhances opportunities for cross-training employees and meeting those department guidelines. 

May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.  

 

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related. 

Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. 

One (1) year of clinical experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Instructor for BLS, PAL, or ACLS. 

Experience as a clinical educator or familiarity with adult learning concepts. 

Three (3) years of clinical experience. 

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
