The University of Houston-Downtown is seeking bilingual students with proficiency in English and Spanish to translate Story Maps as a part of a Library of Congress grant project focused on “Discovering Afro-Latino Heritage”. This position involves translating Story Maps content between English and Spanish to create a comprehensive and accessible collection for our faculty and students.

• Translate Story Maps content from English to Spanish and vice versa
• Ensure accurate and contextually appropriate translations, maintaining the original meaning and tone
• Collaborate with faculty and students to understand the context and content of the Story Maps
• Review and edit translations for accuracy, grammar, and clarity
• Maintain consistent communication with project supervisors and team members
• Meet project deadlines and manage translation tasks effectively

• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Spanish
• Strong translation skills with an emphasis on accuracy and cultural sensitivity
• Excellent written communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
