Overview
The Neutral Beam Electrical Engineer will be part of a dedicated team that supports the high voltage and high current DC power conversion systems and related controls for a high power particle beam system (Neutral Beam Heating) for the NSTX-U experiment.
Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is a world-class fusion energy research laboratory managed by Princeton University for the U.S. Department of Energyâ™s Office of Science. PPPL is dedicated to developing the scientific and technological knowledge base for fusion energy. The National Spherical Torus eXperiment-Upgrade (NSTX-U) is the primary fusion experiment at PPPL. Using Neutral Beam (NB) auxiliary heating, NSTX-U has the capability to heat plasmas up to 100 million degrees. The NSTX-U project goal is to serve as the model for a fusion pilot plant followed by a commercial fusion reactor. PPPL aims to attract and support people with a rich variety of backgrounds, interests, experiences, and cultural viewpoints.
