Description

Keiser University mobile simulation laboratory personnel plays a key role in meeting this mission. The role of the mobile simulation laboratory personnel is to ensure that the students’ simulation laboratory experiences meet the nursing program learning objectives. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

• Current, Unrestricted State of Florida RN License

• Minimum 2 years full-time nursing practice experience

• Must possess a valid Class E drivers’ license  

• Nursing Simulation Certification, preferred

BUSINESS CONTRIBUTIONS: Keiser mobile simulation laboratory personnel are responsible for leveraging their expertise and assisting nursing campus faculty in the delivery of education services to nursing students through:

• Mobile simulation laboratory compliance with OSHA standards

• Mobile simulation bus and equipment maintenance

• Mobile simulation laboratory scheduling

• Training simulation users in simulation activities, operation of patient simulators, AV equipment, and their maintenance

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Simulation Bus Driver

• Requires the ability, competence and confidence to drive the Keiser Mobile Simulation Bus as part of routine job duties.

• Maintains a clean and mechanically-sound vehicle.

• Obey all traffic laws and maintains vehicle safety.

• Maintains mileage, maintenance,  and travel logs and prepares reports.

Simulation Laboratory Coordinator

• Maintains inventory of simulation laboratory supplies. Restocks and orders supplies as needed.

• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of simulation laboratory equipment.  

• Maintains compliance with hazardous waste stocking and removal. 

• Facilitates in planning and scheduling simulation laboratory activities for the College of Nursing. 

• Participates in developing, implementing, and evaluating protocols and policies related to simulation laboratory activities under the direction of the Simulation Committee and Nursing Chairs.

• Collaboration with campus faculty to meet course objectives.

• Operates simulators and AV equipment during student learning and faculty training scenarios and facilitates simulation scenario execution.

• Follow-up with campus faculty for students requiring additional skill practice/remediation.

• Provides tours of the simulation space to prospective students and distinguished visitors.

Other Duties 

• Attends Simulation Committee meetings, University in-services and other events. 

• Other duties as required by the appropriate administrator
