POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Alumni and Community Engagement (MACE) plans, develops, and implements internal and external projects and initiatives on behalf of the College of Nursing. The MACE oversees the management of the following areas: Alumni Membership, Alumni Reunions and Special Events, Community Engagement Programs, Community Relations, and Outreach.
The focus of the MACE is to activate and energize alumni, and to strengthen alumni and community members' meaningful engagement in efforts to bring all constituents close to the College of Nursing. Specifically, the MACE develops, implements, and maintains multi-faceted programs for potential students, alumni, and friends of the college that increase good will and positive relations and continued engagement with USF College of Nursing. The MACE will play a significant role in advancing sustained alumni engagement and advancing the strategic goals and mission related to community partnerships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates to ensure that alumni and community engagement initiatives map to the colleges strategic plans, USF Health, and the university to optimize the colleges goals.  Works in close collaboration and consultation with the dean, college's COSS, and college alumni/development staff to provide oversight, direction, leadership, and accountability for the colleges alumni engagement. Works in close collaboration with academic leadership and faculty to develop and sustain alumni and community engagement.  Actively identifies, explores, and secures partnership funding to support the growth and proliferation of college community partnerships.
Ensures the responsible planning expenditure of fiscal resources, as well as procurement of goods and services in a manner consistent with all university policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws. Assists development personnel to facilitate philanthropic opportunities with alumni.  Identifies and proactively cultivates relationships with community partners and advocates for a shared, respectful, mutual feedback engagement. Develops communication materials, including web information, fact sheets, letters, emails, and instant messaging for the purpose of communicating with target groups. In collaboration with the Director of Communications and Marketing, plans and implements targeted communication campaigns for alumni and community partners including the bi-annual Alumni Magazine.
Defines clear outcomes for the programs, identifies performance measurements, and follows a regular review and evaluation process to support continuous improvement.  Maintains information databases, and tracks, measures, evaluates, and reports achievements of internal and external partnership and alumni goals. Develops reports and distributes them to leadership.  Develops and executes an annual plan outlining goals, action steps, and deadlines.
Coordinates organizational presence at key community events and conferences, engaging volunteers/ ambassadors, or team members, as appropriate.
Serves as a champion within the college for alumni and community engagement initiatives. Develops, maintains, and models positive working relationships within the University, to the alumni association, boards, and community members. Fosters a culture of engagement and pride among students, alumni, board members, and community leaders and partners. Remains current in program/service trends; researches and recommends new programs, services, and revenue-generating programs on and off-campus to engage students, alumni, and community members in the mission and vision of USF College of Nursing. Carries out assignments and special projects as delegated by the dean. Serves as a role model in ethical decision-making, cultural sensitivity, responsible management, and courageous leadership for students through all actions and communications.
Strives to foster and maintain a workplace climate that is supportive of all employees and respectful of diversity as well as to create a learning environment for students that encourages personal development, self-reflection.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years of project management or coordination experience; Some positions may require project management certification.

SB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly related experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

PREFERRED:
Six years of experience related to community relations, alumni affairs, or development.  Experience with developing and executing fundraising plans including grant writing, fundraising initiatives, special events, identifying prospective donors, and maintaining relationships.
