Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Maryland-College Park (UMCP) is seeking applications for a Meteorological Technician. This position is a 12-month appointment that will install, maintain, calibrate, and repair Maryland Mesonet stations and instrumentation, as well as maintain Maryland Mesonet maintenance facilities. This position will be based in College Park, Maryland, but travel throughout Maryland is required. |
Minimum Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. EXPERIENCE: Six years in related work. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
OTHER: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. |
