The ideal candidate will assist the Air Force Metals Fabrication Technology Office (MFTO) in developing, executing, and championing the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) & Aircraft Structural Maintenance (ASM) Strategic Outlook for 2030. Additionally, this role will support other technical and programmatic functions within MFTO, to include creating reports, presentations, and briefing results to AF senior leaders. Will assist in the advisement of multi-location TCTOs, TOs, AFIs, OIs, and other enterprise-related publications and will support MFTO Subject Matter Experts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in technical or management field
• 3 years of work experience with MFTO members and projects within the Air Force
• 3 years of experience related to project support, business strategy, and technology utilization within the Advanced Technology & Training Centers
• Proven track record of working directly with and advising Air Staff, MAJCOMs, ALCs, Field-level maintenance, and sister services to address Metals Technology (MT) and Aircraft Structural Maintenance (ASM) related concerns
• Proven ability and experience needed to aid the Metal Fabrication & Technologies Office in bridging the programmatic, operational and technical knowledge gaps between System Program Offices (SPO)/Program Offices (PO) and field units
• Has directly advised, briefed, assisted in the establishment of programmatic and technical guidance in accordance with DAFI63-140_AFMCSUP
• Has experience in acting as the focal point for equipment and training across the Air Force Fabrication Enterprise
• Exhibits proficiency in structural metal/composite repair, fabrication processes, knowledge of metal composition and materials, AF weld certification and specifications, heat treatment control and procedures, CAD/CAM utilization and post processes, interpretation of mechanical drawings/blueprints, metal/composite fabricating techniques, operational understanding of MT and ASM equipment
• Has demonstrated proficiency/skills and ability relating to:
o Supporting or serving as the focal point for the Aircraft Metals Technology (MT) career field, Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) 2A7X1, and the Aircraft Structural Maintenance (SM) career field, Air Force Specialty Code 2A7X3, in metal fabrication and metal fabrication related activities (related to non-corrosion prevention and control)
o Identifying, driving, briefing, and established standard equipment and requirements with the assistance/ coordination of AF Program Managers/Product Group Managers (PMs/PGMs) and/or MAJCOMs across the enterprise
o Briefing GOs/SESs, GS-15/Col level equivalent AF members
o The development and execution of strategic outlook plans (5 year plan) affecting fabrication sections across the AF
• Experience with metal fabrication, sheet metal, and fasteners. Ability to breakdown Technical orders & training for AF personnel, identify gaps in information, and establish roadmap for improvement
• Bachelors in Program Management, Technical Management, etc.
• Effective written communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite – namely Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Attention to detail
• Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen

• Active US Security Clearance
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
