Mental Health Therapist Intern (LPC Associate) (Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences)

Job Summary:

Under a board-approved supervisor, provides clinical and consultative services to prevent, assess, evaluate, and treat mental emotional or behavioral disorders.

 

Job Duties:

1.     Provides counseling and case management services for patients using evidence-based practices.

2.     Performs crisis interventions as needed.

3.     Coordinates with referring providers and other professionals, family members as needed, to engage patient in care.

4.     Provides liaison between clinical team, clinical leadership, and other professionals involved in the patient’s care.

5.     Consults and assures continuity of care, conveys assessment findings, and implements therapeutic plans.

6.     Prepares reports and other documentation in accordance with good clinical practice and institutional standards.

7.     Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

Education:

Master's degree or higher in professional counseling or related field is required. Passed National Counselor Examination (NCE).

 

Experience:

Up to one (1) year related experience. Under 300 LPC Associate hours obtained.

 

Additional Licenses and Certifications:

At a minimum, eligible for LPC Associate status with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. QMHP eligible and on track to LPC preferred.

 

Additional Skills:

Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
