Job Summary

The Men's Basketball Director of Analytics and Strategy oversees the video, analytics, strategy, and technical needs for the BYU Men's Basketball coaching staff.  This position will also provide players a variety of technical resources for individual, practice, and game preparation.

Duties/Expectations:  

Video & Technology Operations

  • Coordinate video operations for all practices and games (both home and away) and understand WCC and NCAA film exchange policies. 
  • Edit, organize, file, generate, and distribute game film for promotional, recruitment, and instructional use. Produce and upload specialized videos for coaches and players to provide additional resources for game and practice preparation 
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and implements software and hardware upgrades. Stay abreast on new filming technology and analyze basketball filming budgets effectively.

Analytics

  • Paid individual cell phone plan
  • Game lineup analysis
    • Efficiency analytics and providing recommendations to coaching staff on lineups
  • Post-Game reports (10-page report)
    • Evaluating strategic goals and plans for game
    • Analyze offensive and defensive efficiency
    • Identify areas of improvement

Scouting Services

  • Breakdown game, practice, and recruiting film using SportsCode software
  • Provide detailed analysis to coaching staff on game, practice, and recruiting film
  • Coordinate film exchange with opponents
  • Assist in recruiting efforts, camps, and basketball operations when needed

Unit Management

  • Oversee and designate tasks to film interns and managers
  • Keep up-to-date with best practices, latest technology, and latest software

What Qualifies You to Apply?

Required

  • Bachelor's degree (Must have required degree by start date)
  • 1 year of work experience in professional or Division I Intercollegiate Athletics or equivalent combination of education/experience 
  • Willingness to uphold and live by the university's Honor Code
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend, which may be verified during the application process.

Preferred

  • 5 years experience in a professional or Division I NCAA institution in video services or related field
