Position Summary

The UNM Medical/Legal Bookstore is looking for retail Sales Assistants. This position is a key part of our team that we rely on to
serve medical, nursing, and law students, faculty, and community members on a daily basis. We offer specialized retail
departments right here on north campus and are looking for a customer focused, energetic candidate.

All Sales Assistants will assist customers in person, over the phone, and via email. They will become familiar with UNM Bookstore
operations, computer systems, and merchandise. They will also perform data entry, clerical work, and POS functions as needed. In
addition, Sales Assistants will maintain the sales floor by cleaning, stocking, and merchandising according to established
guidelines. Sales Assistants will abide by UNM and Bookstore policies and procedures, and perform other job-related duties as
assigned.

The UNM Medical/Legal Bookstore offers a great, convenient place on north campus to work and get real-life work skills. We

Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Must be a student registered for at least 6 credit hours in the spring semester
  • Customer-focused, energetic personality 
  • Dependable, punctual attendance 
  • Basic math, keyboarding, and date entry skills 

 

  • Experience in retail, customer service, or sales 
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a positive attitude 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
