Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach a variety of lower-level mathematics, statistics, and/or mathematics education courses.
  • Evaluate student performance in courses taught using a variety of assessments.
  • Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
  • Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
  • Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
  • Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.
  • Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.
  • Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.

Required Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in mathematics, statistics/biostatistics, or mathematics education with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in either mathematics or statistics content courses.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the teaching of lower-level mathematics or statistics content courses.
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
  • Experience in teaching lower-level mathematics or statistics courses at the college level.
  • Interest in advancing departmental goals and the mission of Winona State University.

  • Demonstrated interest in service to the department, college, university, and greater community.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has approximately 250 majors and minors in the following programs: Data Science, Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Statistics.
