Position Responsibilities


Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Statistical Science at the University of Idaho is seeking to appoint a full-time instructor in mathematics. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching four courses in introductory mathematics (i.e., algebra, trigonometry, and/or pre-calculus) during the fall and spring semesters. The instructor will collaborate with faculty with introductory mathematics faculty, staff, and the Director of Introductory Mathematics. The instructor will also be expected to participate in department meetings and serve on department, college, and/or university committees.

Qualifications


Minimum Education/Degree Required Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire.
Required Qualifications
  • MS in mathematics or related field, or a MAT in mathematics.
  • Experience teaching mathematics at the secondary or college level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching mathematics at the college level.
  • Experience teaching algebra, trigonometry, and/or pre-calculus.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching precalculus mathematics.
  • Experience with teaching using active learning methods.
  • Experience working as part of a team in an educational setting.
  • Experience with digital education and assessment systems.
