Position Summary
The MAC Career Services Graduate Intern will serve as a member of the UNC Master of Accounting Career Services team and support the Structured Recruiting process throughout the summer recruiting season. The internship is designed to be a balance of independent and collaborative work with a focus on development and building your professional network. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Career Services. Ideal candidates are graduate students studying higher education or adult learning.
The primary focus areas of this position:
* Career advising.
* Delivering career workshops.
* Event coordination and individual projects.
* Gain experience with graduate students and professional schools.
Career advising: shadow Structured Recruiting student advising appointments and gain experience conducting independent 1:1 career advising sessions. Estimated to be 30% of time spent.
Delivering career workshops: support the team with orientation and prep workshops delivered to all students participating in Structured Recruiting. Estimated to be 20% of time spent.
Event coordination & individual projects: assist the team in preparing for the large-scale events. These events include the Careers in Accounting Panel (July 26th) and Meet the Firms (August 15th and 16th).
Create Student Profile Book with Canva template. Estimated to be 30% of the time.
Gaining experience with graduate students and professional schools: develop an understanding of UNC Master of Accounting program and career pathways available to MAC students. Meet with the Career Services team regularly and build your professional network within UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Estimated to be 20% of time spent.
Start date in late May, ending in early August.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
