Job Description

Purpose:

The Marketing Manager, under direction, provides support in internal and external marketing, and identifies and cultivates leads for the programs and training courses of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) Office of Workforce Development. The selected candidate will work with program directors to move leads from interest to enrollment/registration. They will collaborate with the communication manager to develop marketing and communication strategies to enhance the brand. The coordinator will also support the TEES strategic plan with target market initiatives focused on workforce development education.

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Plans & Promotional Campaigns
    • Manages marketing material in support of program marketing plans, including the design and development of promotional campaigns.
    • Identifies mechanisms for promoting member programs and services.
    • Assist operating areas in developing marketing strategies for programs, services, and engagement.
    • Assists with development and implementation of creative content.
    • Assists with the development of social media promotion strategy and content.
    • Ensures compliance with the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) and member requirements as they relate to marketing and promotion of the member.
  • Business Development
    • Identify and research potential clients.
    • Create, build, and maintain partnerships with government, industry, education, and community entities to leverage existing programs and activities, including vendors and other internal and external stakeholders.
    • Participate actively in the development and delivery of services, collaborating with cross-functional project teams and interacting directly with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Integrates and collaborates with internal and external constituents.
    • Create client development plans.
    • Identify growth strategies.
    • Track various points of contact using CRM.
  • Marketing Research & Data Analysis
    • Evaluates existing marketing and promotional strategies and provides input into improving overall effectiveness of those strategies.
    • Provides guidance and information on marketing programs and products.
    • Assists with the collection and reporting of promotion campaign metrics.
    • Conducts surveys and studies to determine the effectiveness of marketing practices and to determine the potential of new markets.

What we need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or applicable field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related experience.

What is helpful:

  • Experience with CRM software.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the workforce development landscape in Texas.
  • Knowledge of/experience in engineering or related STEM field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop marketing strategies and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to comfortably pitch programs in person to potential partners and clients.
  • Experience executing promotional campaigns via web, broadcast email and print.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, design software, and data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with social networking sites for business purposes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients.

The Workforce Development Division of Texas A&M Engineering will be the premier provider of programs, conferences, professional development, and educational opportunities to prepare experts, employees and advocates for STEM-related fields. The Workforce Development Division has six programs: Spark! PK-12 Engineering Education Outreach, Nuclear Power Institute, Engineering Academies, TEES EDGE Professional Education, Regional Divisions, Conference Planning Services.
