Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
Provide marketing and event support to the Office of Engagement & Volunteerism which includes the alumni engagement and parent & family engagement departments.
This position will be up to 20 hours weekly over the summer. Potential to continue into the school year for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Email Marketing
  • Design and build emails in an email marketing platform.
  • Track email marketing metrics.

Social Media Marketing
  • Assist with brainstorming and developing content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Create and schedule reels, carousels, and story content for all social media platforms.
  • Track social media metrics.

Event Planning & Operations
  • Assist with event planning for Welcome Receptions for incoming students and alumni events.
  • Occasionally attend events to interact with attendees, help with set-up, and help with takedown at venues.
  • Prepare invitation lists, update attendance lists, and post-event data tracking of attendees.

Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Detail-oriented and possess organizational skills to maintain calendars, spreadsheets, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, and tools for editing photos and videos used as social content.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service to diverse individuals and groups at all levels, including peers, alumni, parents, staff, faculty and visitors.
  • Be dependable and work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours per week between the hours of 9am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends, but advanced notice will be given.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience using Campaign Monitor or other email marketing platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design and content creation tools (i.e. Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Canva).
  • Previous office experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel along with Google Office Suite.

This position will be fully in person working out of the Elliott Alumni House on the Orange Campus.
