Job Summary/Basic Function
About This Role:
 Lead recruiting and marketing efforts for undergraduate and graduate programs within the College of Arts and Sciences including K-12 outreach and recruitment initiatives. The marketing manager will report directly to the Associate Director of Enrollment Marketing in the Office of Marketing Communications as well as a dual report to the Dean within the College of Arts and Sciences.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities
  • Serve as the marketing liaison and lead for recruiting activities and initiatives for the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Work with the College of Arts and Sciences on branding and messaging strategies for both undergraduate and graduate programs through targeted research while in compliance with university overarching strategies.
  • Seek out and assist in coordinating recruitment activities with the directors and chairs of College of Arts and Sciences programs and departments. Specifically, University Fall and Spring open house events, College Recruiting Events, Summer Programs and Admitted Student Day Events..
  • Work closely with the Office of Admissions in recruiting prospective students interested in programs in the College, to include various outreach practices and work within the University CRM (Slate).
  • Together with the university’s marketing division, develop enrollment templates and procedures to promote programs and departments.
  • Coordinate and manage social media platforms presenting a cohesive presence for the university and College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Perform the role of college web liaison by updating and maintaining College of Arts and Sciences website; providing training and support in the content management system for other users in the college.
  • Implement website changes in line with web accessibility and search engine optimization standards.
  • Communicate effectively with college subject matter experts to develop content for recruiting purposes.
  • Write and distribute news releases as necessary to highlight students, faculty, staff, events and other notable promotions for departments and programs within the college.
  • Work with other marketing coordinator liaisons to coordinate joint activities and share related information and best practices.
  • Work with the Office of Alumni Affairs to promote College of Arts and Sciences products to graduates of Lamar University.

  • Ability to think creatively and outside of the box with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Be a team player by providing quality service to all levels of personnel and students through a collaborative approach to work with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends on event days.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in marketing, communication, business, or related field
  • 3-5 years of related job experience
  • Experience editing within a content management system.
  • Experience managing projects and working within time constraints.
