Summary: 
 
As the third oldest life-long learning program in the country, since 1965, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Temple University has provided meaningful educational and experiential learning to older adults, 50 years and older. OLLI offers in-person, hybrid and online classes, as well as Shared Interest Groups (SIGs), which are peer-led groups that meet around a common topic of interest. OLLI offers over 75 liberal art courses in the fall and spring semesters and over 35 courses in the summer to over 1,000 older adult students each year.  


This position will be an essential part of OLLI and will be based at Temple University’s Center City campus. OLLI also has satellite operations at Ambler and Main campuses to which the position may need to visit occasionally. This position will play a central role in communicating our offerings to our membership to both help build the program and support innovations.  


While the position will report to the Director of OLLI, it will also have a dotted line reporting relationship with the Dir of Marketing within University College, the larger department under which OLLI is housed.

Required Education & Experience: 
 
Bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or other related field and one year of directly related experience in marketing and/or communications. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
 
Required Skills & Abilities: 


  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Strong written and presentation skills. 

  • Strong ability to work in Microsoft Office programs. 

  • Proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of administrators, instructors and OLLI members. 

  • Working knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn. 

  • Knowledge of and experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a similar communications platform.  

  • Strong organization and planning skills.  

  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize. 

  • Demonstrated design skills.


 
Preferred:


  • Ability to speak slowly, clearly and to increase your volume (as needed) to a population that might have minor hearing impairments. 

  • Ability to travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible via public transportation. 
     


This position requires a background check. 
 


This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
