JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Outreach is looking for an experienced email marketing and digital communication strategist with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to enhance our marketing team. As an Email Marketing Strategist, you will work with a dynamic group of marketing strategists and the nine Penn State Outreach units.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to craft and disseminate compelling content across various email platforms, managing comprehensive email communication strategies. Proficiency in list management, content strategy development, scheduling, execution, and analytics reporting is highly sought after. Candidates should possess experience with major email marketing platform. Familiarity with CRM systems, especially Salesforce, is preferred. The ability to interpret email marketing reports and analytics for diverse audiences is critical.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the strategic oversight of Outreach-wide email communications, including list management, content strategy, scheduling, and execution.

  • Reviewing and analyzing data to inform and refine email marketing strategies.

  • Developing a deep understanding of target audiences to tailor email content effectively.

  • Collaborating with the creative team to ensure the marketing strategy is accurately translated into content and design.

  • Implementing and managing email marketing campaigns that favorably position Outreach programs, products, and services.

  • Benchmarking email marketing efforts against industry best practices and analyzing competitive strategies.

  • Monitoring project timelines and the effectiveness of email campaigns.

  • Utilizing analytics and SEO tools to enhance email campaign performance.

  • Reporting on the effectiveness of marketing efforts and making data-driven adjustments.

  • Communicating with stakeholders to ensure the success of marketing initiatives.

  • Overseeing the health of all Outreach email campaigns through deliverability, list cleaning, and adherence to CAN-SPAM laws.

  • Recommending and implementing customer lifecycle automations where appropriate.

Education and Experience:

Minimum requirement is a bachelor's degree or higher plus three (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Additional Information: This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding. This position will be fully remote.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
