Job Summary
 
This position supports MEC projects and programs focusing on the ocean, and scientific and environmental literacy. The successful applicant will instruct and implement existing MEC programs. The position includes significant interaction with a broad spectrum of community audiences. 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instruct existing program with diverse audiences, including environmental data collection and analysis. 
  • Implement evaluation data collection and entry. 
  • Assist in development of new educational activities and materials, including digital and social media. 
  • Assist MEC staff in coordination with visiting groups. 
  • Maintain certification in CPR, first aid, and water safety qualifications and be responsible for safe conduct of minors on campus. 
  • Use and maintain lab and field equipment, supplies, and workspaces.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

  • Minimum Qualifications  
    Bachelor’s degree in a natural science, science education, or related field.   Ability to complete water safety training upon hire.  Physical condition adequate to permit full performance of duties. Certification in basic first aid and CPR.

    Preferred Qualifications  
    Valid Driver’s License.
