ROLE of the POSITION
The Museum Engagement and Outreach Manager collaborates with the Executive Director to plan, execute, and oversee a diverse range of programs aimed at engaging a wide audience, including the campus community, residents of Las Vegas, K-12 students, and the general public. This role leverages the Museum's exhibitions and collections to foster engagement with students, faculty, community partners, curators, artists, historians, lecturers, and visitors to ensure a positive museum experience for all involved.
Responsibilities include managing various programs such as research opportunities, workshops, lectures, events, student initiatives, and other museum activities, including exhibition receptions. The Manager ensures that all programs align closely with the Museum's mission. They are also responsible for overseeing facility rentals, organizing K-12 programming and field trips, and working with the Museum editor to create engaging content for diverse audiences. Additionally, the Manager conducts museum tours, trains staff, volunteers, and interns to ensure a high-quality visitor experience, and represents the Museum in various off-campus initiatives.
Other duties include assisting the Executive Director in volunteer/intern training, maintaining the museum's daily operations, contributing to collections care, art handling, installation, curation, and event planning.

Located on the campus of one of the most racially diverse universities in the United States, we strive to create a nourishing environment for those who continue to be neglected by contemporary art museums, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ groups. To facilitate access for our guests we provide free entry to all our exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and community activities. Our collection of artworks offers an opportunity for researchers and scholars to develop a more extensive knowledge of contemporary art in Southern Nevada.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 1-3 years programming/events experience within a museum, gallery, or other arts institution. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years of experience working directly with artists, curators, researchers, galleries, K-12 teachers, and students. 1 - 3 years of experience working within a college campus.
SALARY
Minimum starting salary for this position is $50,000
