JOB DESCRIPTION

Scope of Position

The above position acts as a liaison to the OSUWMC Logistics and Distribution Department which shares and encompasses electronic item master procurement, and distribution of medical supplies, linen, portable equipment, and selected laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, medical-surgical and nutrition supplies within the Medical Center. The Logistics Management position is for primarily medical supplies and linen. Distribution provides 24-hour/day and emergency services for the above supplies, including sterilized instruments and trays. Controlled points of use inventories located in supply-intense areas of the medical center are also managed through Logistics Services includes direction of technology and functional interface development that supports daily operations of electronic procurement, distribution and materials handling systems and all related front-end and back-end systems supporting procure-to-pay processes serving all business units of the medical center. The Manger oversees integration (where applicable) to other systems (EPIC, Omnicell, etc.), and multiple software vendors that provide specialized ordering and billing for medical supplies along with our RFID tracking system for the portable medical supplies. The Manager is responsible to develop and manage operating and capital budgets for assigned areas and departments.


Position Summary

Provide leadership and management for the Logistics Department. Maintain a working knowledge of the Hospital's Inventory Management System, Omnicell Supply System, and EPIC patient charge processes. Coordinate and monitor the order, receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies, linen, and equipment in various inventory management systems and locations. Generate and edit purchase orders for Medical Center supply orders. Manages supply coordinators stationed throughout the hospital system. Participates in staff training and development. Evaluate and counsel staff in job performance via the P3 tool. Develops policies and procedures. Manage operating and capital budgets for assigned cost centers. Coordinate special projects. Serve as liaison to all Medical Center and vendor contacts.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field and 5 to 7 years of supply chain experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Supervisory/management experience. A Masters Degree is preferred; Ability to lead change and effectively establish high performing teams and role models as well as high performance standards; Excellent communication skills and effective facilitation skills; Strong project management, organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to think strategically; Knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes in a large organization and effective technology driven supply chain processes.
