The Manager of Learning Media Production plans, manages, and operates the learning media production studio to develop instructional video projects associated with cataloged academic programs at Mays Business School, including schedules, parameters, and milestones. Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related experience in studio and/or live video production, including some related supervisory experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with organizational and leadership skills.
  • Works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience in pre-production, production, and post-production of multimedia assets.
  • Proficiency in operating camera equipment and preparing studio equipment (cameras, lights, mics, etc.) for production shoots.
  • Advanced skills with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A keen eye for detail with a passion for creating quality educational content.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seven years of related experience in studio and/or live video production, including some related supervisory experience.

Essential Duties/Tasks


Multimedia Production
  • Plans and facilitates studio, field-based, and live video production including camera operation, editing, set and lighting design, and audio production.
  • Makes technical decisions on appropriate lighting, shooting angle, placement, and type of microphone.
  • Meets production goals and deadlines.


Studio Operations

  • Makes recommendations for the acquisition, operation, security, and maintenance of multimedia equipment.
  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of current design trends and advances in technology-mediated learning.
  • Identifies appropriate multimedia technology solutions for teaching and learning.
  • Identifies work process improvements.
  • Troubleshoots technical issues and resolves operational problems with multimedia equipment and facilities.
  • Oversees the security, operation, upgrade, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Organizes and maintains digital assets.


Studio Leadership and Project Management

  • Balances creative requirements with schedules, budgets, and resource limitations.
  • Manages work assignments using project management tools.
  • Collaborates in the design and review of educational course material.
  • Provides team leadership in the development of advertising and promotional materials.
  • Supervises production support team.


Multimedia Pre-Production

  • Coordinates with instructors to schedule shoots.
  • Trains and prepares instructors for production (e.g., how to use a teleprompter, what to wear, makeup, etc.).
  • Meets pre-production goals and deadlines.


Multimedia Post-Production

  • Edits and assembles final visual/audio materials.
  • Ensures consistency and monitors technical quality of end products.
  • Oversees the multimedia captioning process to ensure alignment with guidelines, policy, and regulations for accessibility.
  • Meets post-production goals and deadlines.
