JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Manager, Eye Center Clinic Operations to manage and coordinate ophthalmic medical support staff and ophthalmic clinic service activities to achieve continuous and optimal patient care.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly responsible for all personnel action including, but not limited to, hiring, performance, appraisals, promotions, vacation schedules and maintaining payroll timecards
  • Maintain interface with MDs, patients and admin staff to provide information and to resolve problems related to clinic services
  • Maintain interface liaison with professional medical staff and other personnel, faculty, and management in administrating policies and procedures regarding patient flow and utilization of space, time, supplies, and equipment
  • Enforces regulatory and compliance requirements (HIPAA, TJC, etc.)
  • Communicate and model the values of DUHS/DHIP through orientation, development, mentoring, performance counseling and evaluation of staff.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS


Education
  • Work requires completion of Ophthalmic Technician and certification as a certified Ophthalmic Technician by Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).

Experience
  • With COT/COMT certification: Work requires a minimum of 6 years of ophthalmology clinic technical support related experience, of which 2 years must be in a leadership capacity.
  • Additionally, diverse knowledge of patient care and eye problems along with extensive knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy, physiology, and pharmaceuticals is also required.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
  • Certification by JCAHPO at one of the following levels: COT or COMT
