Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management, Business Administration or a related field and four years of relevant management/supervisory experience in a progressively more responsible position in a facilities service program. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. Grade 5 (Salary).

Position Description:

The Manager of Custodial Services is responsible for the management of employees who provide custodial maintenance service to the University Facilities including events.  Serve as an active member of the Custodial Service management staff and perform duties in planning, organizing, and administering the management team within Custodial Services.  Provide effective utilization of equipment, supplies and personnel to ensure a high standard of service within the University facilities.                                         

Resonsabilites and Duties Include

Daily Operations:  Responsible for the management of employees who provide custodial maintenance services for the University and events.  Organize and direct the daily operations, manage the management team and supervisor staff, and provide training and assistance.  Including hiring, training, evaluations, counseling staff and employees when needed and maintain effective communications with the staff and employees.  Provide necessary equipment, supplies and staff in order for work to be completed to the highest standard.

Policies and Procedures:  Develop and implement organizational and procedural changes when necessary.  Supervise the instruction and training of employees in assigned work practices in conjunction with the training manager. Ensure policies and procedures are being followed.   

Customer relations: Coordinate with departments and schedule weekly and monthly meetings as necessary.  Coordinate work schedules with the units.  Inspect, troubleshoot, and ensure the delivery of quality service to the University Facilities.

Training: Provide effective utilization and training of equipment, supplies and personnel to ensure high standards of services within the Facilities.

Recordkeeping:  Ensure all recordkeeping is being done within a timely manner and turned into the appropriate staff members.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
